Hôtel Royal

The fog meant we couldn't enjoy a view, which was a shame. The spa was enjoyable and well maintained, and the bar had a fantastic atmosphere with excellent cocktails. Breakfast was delicious, with coffee, cheeses, croissants, and pastries, though dinner was a little disappointing. Service was excellent, with very friendly, professional receptionists, waiters, bartenders, and housekeeping staff. Our room was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable bed, large bathroom, and nice balcony. There was also a pleasant scent throughout the hotel.

The breakfast was just fine, but those scrambled eggs... how do they manage to ruin them every time? The shower was cramped and quite uncomfortable, and parts of the hotel could use renovation. Still, I really enjoyed staying here. The room was clean and nicely furnished, the staff were friendly and helpful, and my own balcony with a coffee table and chairs was a lovely extra. That amazing view!

The location is a real strength, and the room and its view have a lot of potential. But this didn’t feel like a 5-star stay. The bathroom and amenities seem stuck in the 80s or 90s and need urgent refurbishment. Staff were friendly, though they came across as shy, which made interactions awkward. Breakfast was below average.

This doesn't feel like a 5-star hotel. The rooms are nice, but the bathrooms and public areas are tired and need renovation. The breakfast buffet is minimal, since almost everything costs extra. Service is non-existent. They should invest in their staff.
