Gasthaus Alpina Salouf

The village has lovely mountain and valley views. It's small and not very touristy, with a little supermarket within walking distance, though it closes early. A few nearby villages and towns are just minutes away by car. We stayed in a spacious, cozy, clean apartment with two bedrooms, a living room, a separate kitchen and bathroom. The style was very traditional, with some quirky local touches. Towels were provided, and the kitchen had enough equipment for light meals. We stayed here and had dinner twice. The first dinner was so good we had to come back. The beef tartar and tiramisu are a must. My whole family, including our kids aged 9 and 12, agreed it was the best tartar we'd ever had. The pizza, mushroom tagliatelle and venison with berry sauce were great too. The host couple and staff were warm and welcoming. They mainly speak Italian, some German and very little English. I mostly speak English, know a little German and no Italian, but we still got along fine and shared some good laughs. Thinking of this place leaves me warm in my heart and belly.
