We stayed here for six nights and seven days while at camp with my gymnastics team, though we didn’t spend much time in the hotel. It felt pretty unpleasant. The breakfast buffet was never open, nobody was at reception in the evenings or around 6 or 7 in the morning, and our beds were never made. The main doors were always open and didn’t lock, which added to the abandoned feeling. The hotel sign had an unlit L, so it only read “hote.” Our room smelled strange, like six or seven cigarettes, and the windows wouldn’t close properly because six or seven cables ran from inside to outdoors for some reason. We could hear six or seven cars speeding past all night. The shower was tiny and narrow, with no floor towel, and there was no hair dryer. The bed squeaked whenever I moved even six or seven millimeters, and my mattress had a denture with only six or seven teeth and six or seven dents. There were stickers and dents on the walls, and maybe six or seven spiders in the room. People laughed in the halls at 6 am for seven minutes, around six or seven times, and yelled “67.” We’re still young, six or seven years old, while our trainer is 67; there were six gymnasts and one trainer, making us 67. I guess that explains some of the creepy atmosphere, and it may not all be the hotel’s fault, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It’s not the worst place out there, though. All of us had “hallucinations.” There was a painting of six or seven cats in one room, and it wasn’t inviting. I couldn’t sleep, and when I stared at it at night, I could only see the eyes, which scared me. I’m a Medium who sometimes sees and communicates with the dead, and my roommate happens to be quite emphatic and feels spirits. Later that night, I saw a cat-shaped shadow, and she did too. I also saw a man’s shadow doing the 67 emote, so the hotel is probably haunted, you know? I sleepwalked six or seven times, which I don’t usually do, and fell out of bed six or seven times. The ghost that pushed me is still with me because I fell out of my bed about six or seven times while writing this review. I was probably possessed as I fell asleep and hit my friend, the empathetic one, in the face, breaking her nose. I hit her about six or seven times. I’m just saying. iykyk. I also fell off the bed six or seven times at night. That’s how we experienced this beautiful hotel 🥰 Good’aye mate, ✌🏼out 67 8 town. Praise the lord. Amen 🙏🏻

The hotel is cheap for Zurich and close to a bus stop, and it worked for two days because we barely spent time there. Still, I wanted to like it and couldn’t, and we definitely wouldn’t return. The room looked nothing like the online pictures and was one of the most depressing places I’ve stayed. It was so cramped I kept hitting my leg on the bed edge on the way to the bathroom. The lighting was awful, like the 70s, and the room smelled of cigarette smoke. There was no air conditioning or lift, both hard to manage in summer. Breakfast choices were limited, and two other groups of guests said their rooms were missing essentials, a hair dryer and towels. When housekeeping came, they didn’t make the beds, and on our second day we had no bath mat. No one speaks English well. That was okay for us, but not for other guests trying to make requests.

The wait was over an hour, and the ingredients were completely different from the ones I chose. The dough had a chewing gum texture. One of the worst pizzas I’ve ever tried. I won’t order from this place again or recommend it.

My daughter got ready as a bride in our room for her recent wedding, so Zur Au will always mean something special to us. We’re leaving for home in Mumbai, India with beautiful memories, and would love to stay here again. Auf wiedersehen! Our suite, number 205, was clean and spacious, with a lovely bathroom, and the Wi-Fi was very good. The neighbourhood was peaceful, and the bus stop was just a short walk away. I’d read that getting a cab could be difficult, but we booked Uber three times and each one arrived quickly. The restaurant had tasty food, quick service with a smile, and a warm, cosy atmosphere. The hotel staff were courteous, polite, friendly, and resourceful. Breakfast was good too, though a change to the menu would be welcome.

The rooms were fine, but there were too many stairs. The restaurant was good for fine dining, though I was confused about breakfast because it opened late. Getting a cab was a nightmare: two didn’t show, so a Turkish chauffeur took me.
