Grischa - DAS Hotel Davos

Getting to the ski areas was so easy from here. The Jakobshorn cable car is right across the street, while buses 303 and 304 for Parsenn and the bus for Pischa stop by the post office, about a 30-second walk away. For Pischa, you get off at Davos Dorf and change to bus 305 at the same stop. Rinerhorn is straightforward too: the train from Davos Platz station, right outside the hotel, takes about 20 minutes, and the cable car connects directly to the platform. Since the hotel and Parsenn are at opposite ends of Davos, staying at the terminal stop meant we could get seats on an empty bus. Later stops often filled the buses up, and sometimes they passed people by. The ski room is in the basement, with direct access from outside, which was handy after skiing. We ended up eating and having après-ski at the hotel most of the time. There are four restaurants, with casual dining, fondue, Asian food, and a Michelin one-star option, plus a comfortable bar open from early in the day. From the bar windows, you can watch the iconic red Swiss trains pass through Davos Platz station. The hotel’s Dine Around program also lets you book well-rated nearby restaurants. The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom stood out: a really large tub and heated flooring that dried quickly after a shower and felt warm underfoot. There’s also a luggage shipping service at Davos Platz station right in front of the hotel. For CHF 24, you can send ski equipment weighing up to 23kg to the airport train station and pick it up early the next morning. That made traveling via the airport much easier. The location is incredibly practical for a ski trip to Davos, and I’d highly recommend it.
