Hotel Waldhuus Davos

There’s plenty of underground parking, and the hotel is great for families, with a heated indoor pool, playroom, and kids’ cinema. The staff have always been professional and friendly. The restaurant food is first class at very reasonable prices, with lots of choices on the three-course half-board menu. Breakfast is amazing too, with a rich selection of fruit, ham, cereals, cheese, and live cooking. The corridor in the Residenz building looks a little too minimalist to me, but that’s just personal taste.

The spa facilities are gorgeous, and the professional wellness team made our visit feel special with their incredibly warm welcome. We had a lovely stay at Waldhuus. The hotel is kept impeccably, housekeeping is high quality, and breakfast was delicious with generous portions.

The half-board menu had different choices each day, and there was indoor parking with a ski storage room just beneath reception. The staff were very friendly and flexible. The hotel shuttle took us to and from the ski cable station every day. The kids enjoyed the pool, while the adults made use of the wellness sauna.

The parking charge was a very unpleasant surprise at checkout. Nobody mentioned it when we checked in, and it was expensive. The underground garage door also wouldn’t close, which felt like a security problem. Some of the breakfast staff were less friendly, and the pool wasn’t supervised, so a few guests misbehaved and made it less relaxing for a spa pool. One mini-golf hole wasn’t flat, and after rain the surface could have been wiped down. There were good points too: the hotel was cozy, very clean, and had a great mountain view from the room. I got a free upgrade, and the two single beds with separate duvets gave us extra room. The breakfast was great, and there was mini golf, a games room, a swimming pool, and lots of saunas. Reception was open around the clock, and the staff were friendly.
