Hotel Alpsu

We were only passing through on the way to see the highest mountains when we spotted the gorgeous Alpsu Hotel in the Alps. Guests were outside under umbrellas having cocktails, and inside we found a very welcoming place. The restrooms were lovely too. The hostess was kind and gave us the price for a particular room, which looked beautiful in the pictures. We definitely plan to come back and stay here!!!! ♥️

My daughter and I only stopped in for the buffet breakfast before setting off on a 10 day hike, we didn’t stay at the hotel. The food was excellent, with muesli, cereal, fruit, great coffee, juice, fresh croissants and bread, jams, cold cuts, and cheese. At CHF 12.50 each, it was great value. Many thanks to the owner!

Edit: I’ve been back many times since that first visit, and the food is consistently delicious, cooked to perfection. The staff are very friendly. I especially loved the Capuns and caramel custard. They were easily the best I’ve ever eaten.

We stopped for accommodation at 19.00 during a motorcycle tour for two. I think the receptionist came to the desk. We asked if there was a room available, and he said yes but wouldn’t tell us the price. He came out to check the bike’s license plate and model. There was no country sign on the plate, but he saw the HARLEY DAVIDSON. From then on, I felt ripped off: he quoted 160 CHF. I said Booking showed much less. He replied that they only had a big room now. He saw my wallet by mistake. I had 5000 euro cash, and he said, “YOU HAVE MONEY WHY DO YOU DONT WANT THE ROOM?” I answered that it didn’t matter how much money I had or what bike I rode, 160 CHF was more than the 118CHF on BOOKING. He responded, “WHAT IS GOOD IS EXPENSIF!” I wonder, if I book on Booking is it not good, but if I pay cash at reception it is good? This type of host and management disgusts me!
