The location keeps you away from the busier city center, which was nice. We had a big room, the food was good, and the service was great.

I’d happily go back. This was more of an experience than just a meal, and the Chinese food was the best I’ve ever had. If you’re into eggplant, ask the staff to order that dish. It was fantastic.

A really nice hotel in Lucerne, with everything close by.

We liked the meal at the restaurant downstairs, which is popular for Chinese food, and enjoyed the quiet and views around nearby Rotsee, an easy short walk from the inn. The place is a charming little inn just outside Lucerne, though it’s a bit far from the main city. There’s a direct bus from the main station if you’re using public transport. Our room was spacious and clean, and we could see Mt. Pilatus from the windows. We stayed over the Easter holidays. Breakfast was simple and pretty average. There’s no lift, so hauling heavy bags up the winding stairs could be an issue. We’d told the hotel in advance that we wanted an early check-in and were promised the room would be ready, but it wasn’t when we arrived. We waited quite a while in the lobby, and the receptionist didn’t speak English, so she couldn’t understand what we were trying to explain. Also, the hotel can’t provide the Lucerne tourist card because it’s technically outside Lucerne municipality. We missed out on a lot of the benefits. The reception staff couldn’t explain this clearly either, and it took a long time for us to make ourselves understood and then figure out what they couldn’t provide.
