Hotel Bergsonne

The snow-covered mountains were right there from our balcony, and the view from the room was amazing. We arrived really late, around 0100, after calling ahead, and the owner was still very polite and nice. Breakfast was free and awesome too. Would highly recommend!

We loved the restaurant during our visit. It was open all day, with a good menu and generous portions, so you won't go hungry. The schnitzel with salad was delicious and well priced. The spaghetti was even better than what we'd had in Rome, which was good, but not as good as this. Anna looked after us in the evening and was outstanding, the best hostess we've come across on many trips around the globe. Thanks, Anna. Our room was large, comfortable, more than adequate, and spotlessly clean. We were lucky to get a high room, with a fantastic view from a big balcony. Check-in was friendly and straightforward, and the owner was a charming gentleman who speaks perfect English. When I asked about the beer on tap, he said the local brew was best and gave me a generous sample to prove it. He was right, the local blonde beer was excellent. There's no shop up on the mountain, so pick up any special items in Visp in the valley below. Parking is at the rail station, a short two-minute walk away. The walk back gives you a chance to take in the distant valley and mountain views. Breakfast was too extensive to describe, but you'll leave the table very contented. All in all, a lovely experience.

The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was a big spread, with lots of cheeses, yogurt, and fruit. It was different from what I'm used to, but great all the same. There's a great view, even better if you take a walk up the mountain. You pay for what you get.
