Hotel De La Sage

We meant to stay for one night and ended up staying two. Ine and Matthis were superb hosts, and Ine even arranged a hotel massage for me. The food was delicious, there was a good choice of drinks, and the bed was comfortable, with lovely landscape views. We checked in early, too. There’s a nice loop walk up to Villaz and back, and a nearby lunch restaurant with a balcony over the valley. The hotel cat clearly preferred another guest’s chair to me. I couldn’t get close, so I must have been too clean for a smelly hiker, ha ha, inside joke!

Ine, the hotel manager, took such good care of us. When weather disrupted our plans, she helped book a shuttle for the rest of the trip and made sure all the arrangements with the driver were settled. The service was caring and kind, and she’s simply amazing. The hotel itself is charmingly decorated, with comfortable, lovely rooms and a breathtaking view. The chef’s dishes were beautifully served and really tasty. We’d love to come back if we’re in the area, and warmly recommend it.

There were 30 of us celebrating a family birthday weekend at the hotel, and we had the best time. The food was excellent, and we’ll treasure the memories of that party for a long time. Thanks for everything, it was perfect.

After several days hiking the Walkers' Haute Route, this was just the place to slow down and relax. They even let us check in early. The shower was amazing, and although I didn’t use the bath, it looked lovely. Breakfast was so good. We had the loveliest stay and would definitely return.
