Hotel Frauenfeld

I was unsure when I first arrived, but the room was set up amazingly well and had a really nice view. I slept well, and they even put my blazer aside for me to pick up after I forgot it.

The industrial surroundings had me worried at first, but I got such a warm welcome and found a large, clean room with a balcony facing a quiet field and small forest. I felt lucky to have found this hotel. On the second floor, I wasn’t disturbed by noise, and the bed was really comfortable. I especially liked the screen on the balcony door, which is rare in Swiss hotels, and meant no mosquito bites in the warm summer weather. Excellent value, I’d recommend it.

The room is modernly furnished, and the bed was quite comfortable. The receptionist was kind, and breakfast was good, including smoked salmon. There’s parking in an underground garage near the hotel. One drawback is the cold cement floor, which made it hard to walk around barefoot.

The woman at reception and the cleaning staff were nice, but my experience with the man at reception this morning was unacceptable. After staying at this hotel for two months, I was a little late checking out and he spoke to me miserably. I asked to extend my stay by a couple of days, but he left me talking alone and picked up the phone to have another conversation. That lack of respect toward guests is unacceptable.
