The rooms were spotless and comfortable, with games to play, and the food was fresh and tasty. The host made the coffee too. Both the host and the cleaning lady were welcoming and friendly, and the service from the host was especially impressive. Everything else about the hotel was great as well.

We’ve stayed twice now and had a terrific time on both visits. The couple running the place are so lovely, and breakfast is delicious. The rooms are roomy and beautifully designed, with that high Swiss standard throughout. If you want somewhere peaceful and tranquil in a magical setting, this is it.

One night I got hungry very late, and she had her husband come pick me up and take me to a restaurant. She even arranged for someone to bring me back afterward. She was loving, gentle, kind and thoughtful throughout. The guesthouse itself is charming and clean, and the couple who run it are wonderful. It was an unforgettable experience that brought back values and principles people often forget.

Surrounded by greenery with the mountains right in front, the guesthouse is also close to the town of Appenzell. My room was beautiful and so cozy, and breakfast was just right, with fresh bread and a lovely spread of cheeses and jams. The staff were warm and welcoming too. I can’t wait to come back!
