The three of us chose deer because it was hunting season, and it was the most amazing dish I’ve had here. There were at least seven sides on the plate, and every bite was a whole fireworks show for the senses. Delicious!

I was grateful for the chance to stay at Hotel Bahnhof in Giswil for three nights in August 2021. Christoph Zumstein was a wonderful host, with a very positive attitude, and the people and service were friendly. My room had an amazing view, and although the hotel is literally across from the train station, it was so quiet I’d never have guessed the station was there. The location is wonderful. The Wi-Fi was patchy, but I wasn’t there to spend all day scrolling on my phone. It’s a 100+ year old family business, so stay here and support it. You won’t regret it! Thanks from a lone USA 🇺🇲 traveler!

After arriving in Giswil on the steam train from Interlaken, I had a bratwurst with bread and a beer. I went for a walk along the canalised river, then came back for an excellent coffee under the shade of a large awning.
