Hotel Gotthard

I really enjoyed staying at this cozy, welcoming property. The owner was a lovely gentleman and went out of his way to keep guests comfortable. Andermatt is only a 10 minute train ride away. You can change and take your equipment straight to the station, then go directly onto the gondola when you get off the train. I'd definitely return and recommend it to friends and family.

A lovely little hotel in a gorgeous village, with a good starting point for mountain hikes. There's also a round trip around the village, which you can do partly or in full, with information about the area's history, including its part in building the tunnels.

Room 8 was a good size and had its own bathroom. The shower was awesome, too. The hotelier was really friendly, William I believe. William, sorry we rushed off without saying bye. The photos are from just down the street.

We thought we'd booked a room for four, but when we arrived it had two single beds and a sofa bed. I think we made a mistake with the booking, so that was on us. Because of covid, we also couldn't get in touch with the man running the place until around midnight. Even so, he kindly arranged another room and sorted it out without complaining, despite it being the middle of the night and our mistake. Good service!
