Lifestyle & Spa Hotel Grächerhof

Marco and Sanne were wonderful hosts. They answered all our questions by email before we travelled and gave us lots of ideas for things to do. When our taxi failed to show late at night, Sanne kindly drove our family to the train station. Without her, we would have missed our flight in Geneva. We stayed as a family of four, with two young children, and had a very positive experience. The bus from the train station stops right by the hotel. Our room was clean and spacious, breakfast was delicious, and the basement spa had several sauna rooms. I’d give it more than five stars if I could.

I stayed here on a Monday and found it deeply disappointing. The common areas were dusty and dirty, and there was no friendliness or even a smile. The staff seemed disengaged, almost frozen in place, and customer service was nearly nonexistent. The experience was nothing like the one promised on the hotel website. If you’re looking for service or a welcoming atmosphere, I’d strongly suggest staying elsewhere.

What stood out most at the Grächerhof was the family running it. Marco and his family have only recently taken over, and they’re clearly putting a lot of care into making the hotel welcoming. Marco was warm from the moment we arrived, always ready with a smile, local tips, and thoughtful conversation. The personal touches made it feel more like staying in someone’s home than being hotel customers. Older reviews from before their ownership don’t reflect the hospitality we experienced. The hotel is cozy and clean, right in the heart of Grächen, with easy access to hiking trails and the town’s scenic charm. Our room was comfortable and well cared for, and the shared spaces have a lovely alpine feel that suits the surroundings. I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay here, one of the most welcoming hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. It’s rare to find hospitality that feels so genuine. I’d strongly recommend the Grächerhof to anyone after a relaxing, heartwarming mountain stay. I left with great memories of Grächen and real appreciation for the kind people who made the trip special. Thanks to Marco and the whole family, I’ll be back.

I stayed here after running the Ultra Tour Monte Rosa (UTMR) 2025 in Grächen. The staff let me leave my baggage at the hotel before the race, which made the logistics much easier. Check-in was smooth, and my room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room to rest after the race and pack my gear. Breakfast the next morning was filling. The staff were very warm and friendly, and it seems like a family business. I’d recommend staying here to future UTMR participants and other visitors, whether you’re travelling as a family, a couple, or on your own.
