The incident left us shaken, and I’m still waiting to hear that management has taken proper action. A receptionist became aggressive and threatened us with a sharp object, and the police had to get involved to keep us safe. It was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend staying here at any cost. Guests’ safety should come first, and after what happened I’d advise people to stay elsewhere.

The parking payment was nearly charged twice because of poor communication between staff. I kept the receipt, which prevented that. We also booked two rooms, but after we contacted our booking website, ibis refunded just one night for only one room, without explaining why. That isn’t proper compensation, and the whole experience showed poor management. I can’t recommend the hotel. If I could, I’d give it 0 stars. I booked because the listing said there was air conditioning, which mattered while travelling with my elderly parents. At the hotel, staff said there was no proper AC, just a weak cooling system that barely helped during a heatwave. We spent three nights trying to sleep in unbearable heat. The first receptionist wouldn’t move us to another room and made an unprofessional remark about his mother teaching him. At checkout, another employee said AC did exist and a technician should have been sent, but it was too late by then.

I left a day early after the manager was rude and made accusations against me without evidence, which embarrassed me. I wasn’t refunded for the unused time. The hotel is far from everything, the reception was terrible, and the horrible breakfast wasn’t worth 12 CHF. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The room and bathroom were very clean, with nice towels and bedding, and we slept well. After that, things went downhill. Booking.com sent confirmation with an address 25 minutes from the hotel, and the hotel didn’t answer our chat when we asked for the right one. We arrived after 22:00, when the Ibis budget reception was closed. By phone we were told to check in at the Ibis main desk, but there were no signs from the underground parking to show us where it was. The Ibis budget receptionist ignored our request for directions and rudely waved us away, saying he was closed and wouldn’t answer questions. At the desk, the night shift employee asked about breakfast. When I said we weren’t sure and would decide in the morning, her tone became unpleasant. The morning shift employee was much nicer, smiled, and wished us a good day.
