The painted panels beneath the roof make Kapellbrücke feel like a museum you can walk through. You can also still see some burned sections from the 1993 fire. Flowers line this historic wooden bridge, with the Reuss River below and mountains all around, so crossing it feels like walking into a postcard. It gets busy during the day, but it still lives up to the hype. Early morning or evening is especially lovely, when the river reflects the lights and the whole area feels magical. It’s a short walk from Lucerne station, linking the Old Town promenade, cafes, and lakefront. Don’t just hurry across. Stop around the middle by the Water Tower for photos of the river, old town buildings, and Swiss mountains behind the city.

The location of Chapel Bridge Apartments HITrental made our first Switzerland trip easy, with major sights nearby and plenty of restaurants, bars, cafés, and supermarkets around. The facilities were enough for making simple meals, and the hotel itself was good. One drawback was a cooking smell coming from downstairs, which made it hard to open the bedroom window. Still, we had a five-star experience and would highly recommend it.

We stayed in late May 2025, and Switzerland was beautiful, though expensive. The room had a bedroom and living room for two adults and a child, plus a small kitchen with everything we needed, including a refrigerator. It was clean and felt safe, in the Old Town where we could walk everywhere, including from the train station. There was a laundry room on another floor, which we managed to use a couple of times. That was wonderful.

Being right in the center of the Old Town made it easy to get everywhere. The apartment was lovely, clean, and had everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay and would gladly come back.

The apartment owner was very accommodating, and the place was good value for money. It’s centrally located in Luzern’s old town, close to the centre and its iconic sights. I’ll definitely book this hotel again.
