The view from our room was incredible, and the receptionist who helped us throughout the stay was amazing. He was working overtime over Christmas and New Year, and still did a great job. After a local hotel cancelled us on the day we were travelling, we booked here. Within half an hour, the gentleman at reception called to arrange a parking spot. Local hotel Steinbeck hadn’t shown us that kind of courtesy. We were taking the train, so he also explained which local bus to take with our luggage. Your stay comes with a bus card for free trips to the centre of Grindelwald, which is a 12 minute walk or 3 minute bus ride. The rooms aren’t the Ritz, but they’re standard, with a comfy bed and a lovely bathroom. You’re on a mountain, and there’s so much to explore outside anyway. If you plan to stay in and have drinks, pick up supplies at Coop. Thanks for the memories!

We liked having a clean, roomy place to come back to and rest, and the staff were friendly. The view was amazing and breakfast decent too. The only thing that cost it a star was the towel rack stopping its heating. They noted the issue and put in an order to fix it quickly.

Mr Bala was helpful and pointed us to a good ski hire shop where we got a 20% discount. We stayed a few nights in March for skiing. The room was a great size, with a terrific view of the Eiger, very comfortable beds, and triple glazing that kept it cozy. Breakfast buffet had a great mix of sweet and savoury food. The central station is about a 15 minute walk away. There’s a free bus, but we walked, and used lockers in town for our ski gear.

I found the room extremely dirty, with hair and black dust on the bedding. The pillowcases were appalling. There were also dead insects on the bathroom floor, so I asked to change rooms. The employee ignored me after assuming I didn’t speak English well, then told someone else, right in front of me, that I wanted a higher floor. That wasn’t true. I’d chosen another room on the same floor. The hotel employs staff who behave in a racist way. If I were managing it, I’d put more effort into hiring diligent cleaners than people with prejudiced attitudes.
