There are plenty of restaurants close by, and getting to the train station is easy. Our room was clean, and they provided bottled water, a kettle, and tea bags. Breakfast was great, and the staff were really nice. The manager also gave us a coupon for the free shuttle bus.

We stopped in for a late lunch as a group of four. The food tasted good and was just what we needed, but the service made it a sad experience. The waiter never checked on us and acted as if serving our food was a favor. There were flies everywhere, with no way to get away from them.

We went in during the evening on 15th September 2024 for two hot chocolates to go. It wasn't crowded, and the staff didn't seem overloaded. We stood patiently by the cash counter waiting our turn, while one waitress kept looking at us without serving us. A short-haired woman then looked over, so I politely asked for the drinks. She shouted that we needed to wait our turn, even though that's what we'd already been doing. Right after that, she turned to a European couple and greeted them with a big smile. The way we were treated felt unnecessarily racist, especially when we'd been polite. Switzerland had been our dream destination, and this waitress's rudeness left us with a horrible memory. I could see staff chatting among themselves, so the sharp tone and attitude felt completely unjustified. Even if she wanted us to wait, she could have said so kindly and without those negative expressions. The hot chocolate she gave us was also very diluted with water. I can't tell whether that was intentional. After reading many other reviews, I realized that people mention rudeness and shouting here repeatedly. Doesn't the restaurant management see these reviews and take steps to prevent it? Staff in customer-facing jobs need basic communication manners, particularly when customers are being polite. It's unfair to hurt someone for no reason and spoil their trip. If you can't treat people kindly, you shouldn't be working with customers. I would give this place a negative rating if I could, because of the waitress's arrogance. Please be kind; you don't know how much your attitude can ruin someone's day and experience.

At checkout, I was charged far more than I expected. I had booked directly because I like supporting hotels that way, but had asked for the room and price I'd seen on a booking site. Anna argued that she'd told me the higher rate over the phone, but she hadn't, and it wasn't mentioned at check-in either. She said we'd been in a “standard” room rather than a “budget” one. I hadn't known that, and the room we'd been given was basic but comfortable, nothing special and not very large. I felt the charge was unreasonable and that I had been overcharged. When I challenged the bill, Anna was extremely rude and personally offensive. She even said, “well you had the money to go paragliding, which is very expensive.” Our trip was mainly for my brother's birthday gift of paragliding. That was none of her business, though I told her, and her assumptions were unwelcome. I'm not rich enough for this to be unimportant. This stay let down Switzerland's reputation for honesty and professional hospitality. I was very disappointed. Avoid the hotel if you can. If you have to stay, be very careful, consider booking through a third party, and be prepared for rudeness and an unexpected higher bill.
