Hotel Restaurant Blümlisalp

The bus stop right in front of the hotel was convenient, and I loved the breakfast, coffee, and fresh croissant. The butter tasted heavenly, almost as if it had just been made there. My short stay at Blumlisalp Grindelwald was very good overall, and I loved the breathtaking mountain view from my room balcony. It felt like I could reach out and touch the mountains. The bed could be better. I didn’t sleep well the first night, though I got used to it the next day. Communicating with the hotel was hard because they wouldn’t answer the phone, for reasons I’m not sure of, and contact was only possible by email.

The balcony had an incredible view, and the hotel was well placed for peaceful hikes. The room itself was tiny and sparse, and seemed to be the smallest one there. There was no bathroom outlet or hair dryer. When I asked at the front desk, they wanted 30 USD to lend me one, more than a hair dryer costs in the USA. Breakfast was very nice, and the restaurant was amazing, though pricey, so we didn't eat there often. The smoked salmon was great!

Lovely service, local food, and beautiful scenery made this a great, peaceful place.

The mountain views were incredible from every room and the restaurant, with rocky peaks and even glaciers visible from the windows. Our room was clean, breakfast was included, and the staff were really friendly. Breakfast was fresh from the attached farm, with meats, cheeses, yogurt, fresh milk, and orange juice. We also enjoyed a reasonably priced fondue dinner at the restaurant. We got a free bus pass for Grindelwald for our whole stay. WiFi occasionally kicked us off, but it was easy enough to stay connected without using data. You can borrow an outlet adapter or hair dryer for a 10 CHF deposit. We had no CHF cash, so they took $10 USD instead and returned it at checkout. I'd absolutely stay here again. If I could give the hotel six stars, I would.
