I've never had service this good, in Europe or anywhere else in my life. Reception let us check in five hours early and gave us complimentary drinks. When we checked out early before breakfast, they even put together a goodie bag with sandwiches and drinks. I couldn't recommend them more, 10/10.

I paid for this accommodation when I booked it 18 months ahead. Now they've cancelled the booking unilaterally. I wouldn't count on actually getting a room here.

This was a really unpleasant stay at a hostel in Grindelwald. I arrived late after unexpected delays. They did have a late check-in arrangement with keys left outside, but the instructions and communication were poor. I had an early train the next morning and tried to let the property know I'd be checking out early, but reception was closed and nobody answered the phone. For a tourist hostel, they should have round-the-clock support or an online check-in option, as most hostels do these days. I also messaged through Booking.com. The next morning, though, the receptionist cancelled my booking, saying I hadn't checked in. I explained that I had checked in and followed their instructions, but she shouted at me rudely and accused me of using the room without paying, even though I'd paid for my stay. No Wi-Fi, bad communication, and unprofessional staff made the whole experience awful. I wouldn't recommend staying unless they improve their service and communication significantly.

The 15 minute hike up is a solid climb if you miss the bus, but staying here was an absolute pleasure. My family of four enjoyed every minute and we'd happily return. The rooms are clean, the view is exceptional, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious and wholesome, prepared or provided by the team. They take sustainability seriously and don't waste food. The people running this wonderful hostel were wonderful too. We've already recommended it to friends.
