Au Soleil de Gruyères Chez Chantal

I stayed in Le Balcon, a cozy room with thoughtful decor and a comfortable, homey feel. The linens and small touches all seemed carefully looked after. Chantal was warm, kind, and attentive, and her presence made the place feel personal. I left with fond memories of this little haven in Gruyères. It suits anyone who wants to enjoy the village at an unhurried pace.

What made our stay so lovely was Chantal's thoughtful hospitality, along with the beautiful views. She also offers shiatsu and massage. The local shopkeepers know her and were welcoming, which gave the neighborhood a friendly feel. The village is scenic and historic, with plenty nearby and a good bus and train network to other towns. It's a great base for walkers, right in the heart of a beautiful Swiss village. Chantal is wonderful, and our stay exceeded what we expected.

We got to enjoy Gruyere in the quiet early mornings and late evenings, after the day visitors had left. The village and its lovely surroundings felt like they were ours for a while. We wanted to experience a charming medieval town as temporary residents, and Chantal's place gave us exactly that. She was friendly, helpful, and charming. The balcon apartment is in a residential building and was comfortable and very well equipped.

Chantal was a caring, lovely hostess, and we really enjoyed meeting her. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable in a renovated 14th century building. It's right in the center of Gruyeres, with shops, restaurants, Chateau de Gruyeres, and Maison de Gruyere all conveniently close. A perfect weekend base. We'll definitely be back.
