La Taupiniere

I've been here in February and September, and loved it both times. The chalet is cozy and well equipped, with decent wifi for getting a little work done on holiday. The pool and sauna are fabulous, and there's a lovely garden and a balcony off the kitchen. In winter we skied at several of the nearby villages, with great runs and no queues. Gruyere old town is a short drive away, with the best fondue ever and the extraordinary Geiger Museum. There's always more to explore. Wonderful.

Hikes start right at the door, from easy ones to challenging routes, or you can take the cable car to the peak of the Moleson. The little fun park and cheese manufactory nearby are worth checking out. It's a great spot beneath the impressive rock of the Moleson, with a real cottage feel, plus a pool and sauna. We loved it. The kitchen is a bit small but has what you need. The furnishings aren't new, though they suit the alpine setting.

We came for a week to relax, and that's exactly what we did. The chalet is amazing, with lovely scenery and walks all around. It's very quiet, and the pool and sauna are a nice extra. We'll be back.

The pool and ground floor have stunning views, and there are thoughtful touches throughout the chalet. It's beautifully situated for winter sports and trips to historical Gruyères. Highly recommended.
