Le Saint Georges

Ethan gave us a warm welcome and was very kind and generous while looking after us. My family and I tried fondue for the first time in Switzerland at this lovely restaurant. He also accommodated my little brother’s allergies to egg, milk, nuts, seafood, and sesame. He had the hawaïn pizza without cheese. I highly recommend this place for its stunning view. The restaurant turned out to be a lovely surprise too. We’d spent way too much on some pretty ordinary food during the trip, so we ordered some of the least expensive entrees and expected a mediocre meal. Instead, the portions were huge and everything was full of flavour. The pasta with bolognese was simply delicious, and it even came with bread. Ethan took such great care of us, always attentive, polite, and kind. Thanks to all the staff. You made what could have been just another bed for the night feel like a fairytale in this magical village. The hotel was meticulously clean and well presented, with large, thoughtfully laid-out rooms that felt special. The location deserves 6 stars, since I can’t imagine wanting to stay anywhere else. The staff had looked after us from the moment the door was opened when we arrived. Gruyères is such a special town that its surprising fantasticness almost doesn’t make sense to me. We booked the hotel by chance while looking for other places nearby. It wasn’t cheap, but it was only 30 Francs more than a hotel out of town, which is insane. This place was the highlight of our trip.

Ethan made our visit feel relaxed, welcoming, and memorable. From the moment we sat down, he listened carefully, kept an eye on everything, and made sure our requests were handled without ever being intrusive. His warmth, professionalism, and knowledge stood out, and he clearly loves his job. The whole experience at Saint George’s Restaurant in Gruyères was wonderful. Service like that is rare and deserves recognition. Thank you, Ethan, for making the meal so special. We’d gladly return and hope you serve us again.

Gruyèes is a beautiful, magical city, and the folks at Le Saint Georges Restaurant made our visit feel complete. We had an amazing meal and a very pleasant surprise, with friendly, welcoming staff who were great at accommodating us. The service was great too.
