This place means a lot to my family. My mom, uncle, and I stopped in for coffee, though we didn't really stay at the hotel. My mom, who was born in Switzerland, worked here in her late twenties and early thirties. My dad was born in Canada and had been working at a hotel in Alberta when he took a job here. It was undoubtedly the best decision he ever made, since this is where my parents met. That's why I'm writing this today: even a simple building can be part of a life-changing moment 🥰😊😘

We had a lovely weekend in Heiden. The hotel and its surroundings felt charming and peaceful, just right for a short wellness break. Our room was bright, clean, and comfortable, and the spa was quiet and relaxing. The staff were a real highlight, always attentive, friendly, and ready to help. Breakfast was generous, delicious, and made with fresh ingredients. We also appreciated the complimentary tea and fresh fruit available throughout the day. A few things could be better. There was no fridge or minibar in the room, which was inconvenient in Heiden, especially on Sundays when everything is closed and dining options are limited. It would have been useful to keep groceries or drinks cold. The spa bag came with a bathrobe, towel, and slippers, but these weren't refreshed the next day unless we asked. After swimming or using the sauna, they could be damp or soaked, and didn't dry properly overnight in the room. Fresh items each day would feel more comfortable and hygienic. The spa itself also had no clean towels available after the steam room or sauna, especially in the textile-free areas. Towels were available if we asked the staff, but a self-service supply of clean ones would make a big difference and is standard in most wellness hotels. We genuinely enjoyed the stay, and the welcoming atmosphere, staff, and amenities made for a lovely weekend. A few small improvements could make the wellness experience even smoother.

The hike up Kaienspitz is short and beautiful, about 1-1.5 hours from the hotel, and I'll definitely be back. We had a perfect wellness weekend, with a wonderful spa area and very friendly staff. Our room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and everything was super clean. The weather was lovely, which helped, but what a hotel. The meals and breakfast lived up to high expectations. Everything was carefully prepared with fresh ingredients and real attention to detail. Even the smoked salmon at breakfast was homemade.
