The food was excellent, and it’s a very nice, family-run gasthaus with thoughtful service. The skibus to Andermatt stops only 20m away every 30 minutes. My only issue was the very small shower. I’d book here again if I return to Andermatt.

The guesthouse has loads of character, and my single room was surprisingly big. Breakfast was plentiful, the pizzas were great, and the owners were warm and kind. The free snow bus stops just across the street, while Hospental train station is about a 7-minute walk away. There’s a bit of an uphill climb from the station, but I managed it with my backpack and snowboard bag. I had a great time and would happily stay again.

We stayed in the bunk house, where the beds and blankets were great. It’s a quiet spot just above Andermatt, and the owners and other guests were super friendly. The restaurant also managed to offer a few vegan dinner options.

We left with a bill that was almost twice what we expected because of what felt like junk fees. The owner charged us for a second plate to cut our pizza in half, tap water, and a bank card surcharge, and seemed very upset that we didn’t order wine. We simply don’t drink. It was a terrible experience, and we’d never go back.
