Alphorn

A pleasant and convenient place to stay, with a cozy feel and helpful, warm staff. Owner Christine manages it well. Hotel Alphorn is just a five-minute walk from Interlaken West station, and spotless, small rooms come with a continental breakfast each day. Bus No. 104 from Interlaken West gives easy access to Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen via windermill station. Eating boxed meals in the rooms is restricted to help keep them clean.

The rooms were large and very clean, and the breakfast was great. Christine, the owner, is incredible, and the whole staff is friendly. It’s conveniently located near downtown, about a five-minute walk from the bus station. I’ve stayed at a few hotels in Switzerland, and this one is easily the best. I’ll come back in a heartbeat. If you’re in interlaken, stay here!

The staff were amazing, so kind and helpful, and even suggested restaurants and places to visit. It’s less than five minutes from Interlaked West. Breakfast was good, with fruit, yogurt, bread, ham, cheese, and lots of spreads. This hotel was brilliant, I’d highly recommend it.

There’s no privacy in this small, very poor hotel. Families should look elsewhere, since they won’t let you eat hot food in the room. You feel watched 24X7. Find another place for the money. I have no way to reply to the hotel’s response, but it shows how they treat guests. We were barely in the room. If cleaning is such a problem, charge guests for it instead of putting restrictions in place. People on vacation have things to do and trains or flights to catch, so you can’t judge them. If you run a business, hire a cleaner and put “no hot food” on the booking page, not after someone books through a third party that won’t refund the money. We were barely there and had little interaction with you, so what does “nothing but trouble we gave you” mean? I’d have been happy to pay cleaning charges if you’d asked. Once more people write about their experiences, you’ll find yourself in the average bar.
