Hotel Interlaken

The restaurant was delicious and the service there was great. We also found the hotel very easy with young kids: the staff were patient, and they safely kept our huge stroller downstairs so the room had more space. Our bunk bed family room was clean, roomy, and had a good sized balcony. The location worked perfectly, within an easy walk of the main train station and restaurants, with the Harder Klum train basically across the street. The inside felt lovely, and the pond area was beautiful. The outside sign and facade could use an update, though, since they don't have the same warmth or character and made a poor first impression. Still, everything else was lovely, and I have mostly good things to say.

Dinner was the highlight for us. I'm vegetarian, and the salads and other dishes I had were fab. Philipp took such good care of us, thank you! We also had a great room, perfectly adequate, with a gorgeous little balcony for watching the sun go down. The hotel is brilliantly placed for both the station and town, and we really liked staying here.

The hotel's sustainability approach left a strong impression on me. Its environmental responsibility seemed remarkable, possibly among the best in Switzerland, and I could feel that the stay was designed with care to reduce CO₂ emissions. That gave the experience a rare sense of meaningful change in eco-conscious hospitality. I only had one day because of my tight travel schedule, but still enjoyed it immensely. The restaurant was excellent, and the service was high quality. More than somewhere to sleep, it felt like a place to experience. From the design onward, there was a calm, grounding, almost spiritual atmosphere alongside history, joy, elegance, prosperity, and an honest sense of lived reality. This is, without a doubt, the most historic and iconic hotel in Interlaken, and it really embodies the city's soul. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Interlaken. It may even be one of Europe's most historically significant hotels, where history, responsibility, beauty, and conscious living come together exceptionally well.

We've stayed here a couple of times, for ski trips in the Jungfraujoch region and for other events, and it's always been easy and a great experience. The front desk staff are welcoming, attentive to details, approachable, and ready to offer advice about the city or the region. Someone is always there to help. We usually come for a ski weekend with my partner, and late evening check-in has been possible; we've been able to leave our ski gear in the special closet. The ladies at reception made each return feel personal and memorable. Breakfast is a tasty, typical international spread, with a few cuisine options for Asian and Arabic guests. Some rooms have balconies, which might be useful for smokers, I guess. In general, we'd recommend staying here and will certainly come back. Thanks 🙌
