New West Station 7

It was cheap and available, and the host didn't collect tourist tax, which saved us money. For check-in, I texted as requested and got an immediate reply on WhatsApp, but the host never answered my questions or concerns about the room. In room 10, one curtain was missing its bottom section, and the only light was a TL fixture. An outlet had no front plate. The kitchen tap was loose, and a stove indicator light stayed on even though I never used the stove. I think it may have been an electrical fault and a fire hazard. I couldn't find a smoke detector and felt unsafe. The bathroom toilet buttons were loose, and another outlet was missing its cover. The sink took more than 14 hours to drain, so I used the kitchen sink instead.

Unit 1, the top unit, was really nice, with great amenities and washroom, and the location was convenient. The main problem was getting help. There was a support staff member on site, but she didn't speak English, so it was hard to explain the issue with our electric kettle. I asked the owner for a replacement. He first replied that it would be replaced the next day, but it never arrived. When I followed up, he blocked my number. It was really disappointing to have no proper support when we needed it.

It was much better than we expected: very clean and spacious. Being near the train station made the location really convenient.

The rooms had a strong fungus smell, and we developed a really bad cough. I'm not sure whether we're allergic to the smell or if everyone is affected by it. The towels were a bit rough, so I'd bring your own. The location was nice, about a ten minute walk from the main town. The owner was hard to reach, but nice when we finally met at checkout.
