We used the hotel's 24/7 spa after hiking at Sunnbüel, whose cable car station is a two-minute walk away, and at Oeschinensee. In peak season, a bus leaves from outside the hotel every hour or half hour for that cable car station. The hotel is surrounded by lovely places to visit, and Kandersteg worked well as a base in the quaint Swiss Mountains. We could easily reach Bern, Thun, Interlaken, Jungrau, and Milan by train or car, as we did. I definitely recommend buying a Swiss Rail Pass. The staff were so kind and attentive, and nothing felt like too much trouble. They arranged transfers to and from the local train station, which saved us hauling our bags through the snow. Breakfast was included every day, with hot and cold drinks, plenty of cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, bread, pastries, and cereals. You could also order omelettes, crepes, and a few other freshly cooked options. Our bedroom was spacious, modern, and clean, and the bathroom was spotless with amazing shower pressure. We loved the balcony view (pictured), and the chocolate on the pillow was a lovely touch. My friends and I stayed during February half term and had such a good time that we booked again at reception while checking out. I'd give it more than five stars if I could!

After a day hiking in the mountains with breathtaking views, we could walk just two minutes to the Sunnbüel cable car station, then come straight back to a warm sauna and relaxing whirlpool, available to guests any time of day. The hotel sits among the mountains, which we could admire from the room windows and balcony. Waking up to snowy Alps was hard to beat. We came for a relaxing minibreak, and it was just right. The main village and its stores are less than 2 km away, close by but far enough that we could avoid the tourist hassle. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, breakfast had a great selection, and everything was spotlessly clean. Our room was cozy and spacious. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night, which the staff managed to arrange without any problems. Highly recommend this newly renovated, beautiful hotel!

Breakfast was very good, and the coffee was decent, with some available in the room and wellness area. The hotel is in a beautiful location, and it was clear the rooms had been recently renovated. They were modern and clean, and we had a very pleasant stay. A broken outlet in room 109 was one annoyance. The leaf-shaped bedside tables in my room also kept spilling drinks or glasses of water, which got a bit irritating.
