The garden around the restaurant terrace was beautifully kept, and even with our two little kids running about, we never felt we were bothering anyone. After a long drive, we stopped for a quick meal and were glad we did. The food was good, especially the spinach Catharina had pointed out. It did feel a bit expensive to us, as others have mentioned, but that’s just how the exchange rate worked out, not really a downside. Everyone was friendly and spoke English well, so getting by was easy. We were only there for one night, heading home to the Netherlands from Italy, but it turned into one of our best hotel stays. Catharina gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived with our three young children. Our twin room on the lower floor was huge, clean, and tidy. It had two extra beds, a baby bed for our youngest, and even a small terrace. I’m a bit of a neat freak, and we loved it. Parking was free and close to the hotel. We’d happily come back if we’re in the area. Thanks to everyone!
We chose this place to break up the drive from Germany toward Lake Como, and the location worked really well, just off our route. The room setup suited our family perfectly: a double bed for us and two twin beds in a lofted area where the kids enjoyed bunking away from us. The staff were attentive to our requests, friendly, and spoke great English. The accommodations felt comfortable, clean, and updated. We also liked the food, though it was a little pricey, about what we expected in Switzerland. It was a pleasant stay and good value overall.
We’d be glad to stay here again if we could ask for a room at the back rather than facing the street. Our room was hot despite the cool weather outside, and it didn’t seem to get much fresh air. We had to leave the terrace doors wide open to sleep comfortably. The road noise went on very late, and the laundry extractor fan was nearby too. The hotel left earplugs, so they seem aware of the heat and noise. We also saw people, presumably staff, smoking just outside the laundry steps, right by our window, which was unpleasant given the no-smoking setting. For a stop while passing through, the location is handy, close to but not right beside the motorway. The modern rooms were comfortable, breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our two dogs were welcome too. They couldn’t come into the breakfast room, understandably, but we could sit with them on the terrace. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, both the food and service. There’s a large free car park with charging stations for electric cars.
The room got uncomfortably hot at night, and we couldn’t open the windows until quite late because the neighbors were chatting. A refrigerator in the room would have been handy too. I was travelling from Italy to Belgium with my two kids. The hotel was clean and cosy, the staff friendly, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. I’d certainly stop here again.
I haven’t stayed at the hotel, but I keep coming back to this restaurant. The classic Swiss dishes are great, the service is exceptional, and the employees are always welcoming. Their tartar gets 10/10 from me!
