Christian went out of his way to help one of our skiers after an injury required surgery in Davos. With hotels in the area nearly full for school holidays, he still arranged for them to stay and recover for almost a week until they could fly home. By then I felt Christian was a friend. He’s one of the family owners, and his care was exceptional. I’ve taken ski groups to the Alps for about 30 years, and though I’ve stayed at plenty of good and great hotels, my experience at Silveretta Park Hotel in Klosters topped them all. From arrival to departure, the service made us feel like royalty. The rest of the staff were exceptional too. We enjoyed the food and rooms, and the location was ideal, close to the train station, gondola, and town. In my experience, family-run hotels tend to be better in almost every way, and this one was no exception. For five-star service, in summer or winter, I’d highly recommend the. Silveretta Park Hotel in Klosters.

There’s a lot of potential here, but the hotel seems to be kept afloat for money without investment in improvements. The billiards table is a disgrace, really only usable by little kids, who keep breaking it anyway. The jacuzzi feels more like an ice tub, and there’s no TV in the lounge to watch the Olympics. Compared with other hotels that know how to run things, this place just doesn’t seem to know how to run a hotel properly. It’s disappointing.

In central Klosters Platz, this is a recognizable, dependable place to stay, with professional service and a classic feel. The wood-panelled interiors and elegant shared spaces give it an alpine character, while the generous layout and modern comforts make it suitable for couples or families. It’s a full-service hotel with the traditional Swiss hospitality feel.

We didn’t stay at this hotel, but ate at its restaurant twice while in Klosters and are still talking about the meals now that we’re home. The chef showed real skill, and the beautifully presented dishes were a pleasure to look at and eat. The waiter and waitress were professional, welcoming, and helpful with the food and wine choices. Even the owner came by to make sure we were happy, which showed how much he cares for his guests. After being disappointed by dinner at our hotel, we felt lucky to find this restaurant. It sets a very high bar for fine dining.

The service was great and communicative, the draft beer was very good, and the soup was fabulous. Those were the positives. The fish and chips seemed to be fried in old oil and didn't seem fresh, while the spaghetti was overcooked with an average sauce. Maybe we were unlucky, but the food doesn't seem to be this place's strong point. We only used the restaurant, which was open to the public on NY day.
