Our large group had a reservation, though on a Saturday night it wasn’t busy and we probably didn’t need one. Service was quick and efficient, the dishes were consistently good, and there were some interesting drinks, including Lumbumba. Paying separately was easy. They also swapped salad for my fries at no extra charge.
The hosts were kind and accommodating when we stopped for the night, even though we don’t speak German. They found us a room, and we found the hotel amazingly comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding too.
It’s right by the Kublis, Bahnhof (Train Station), and the hotel has a fitness area with two saunas. Breakfast was adequate, with lots of options. Parking was the trouble: we arrived early and got a space easily, but a few hours later cars were double parked. We left our car where it was because we were worried there’d be nowhere to park when we came back.
Dinner at the restaurant was very good, and our room was really spacious. The beds were too soft, though.
We had lunch on the outdoor terrace, a pleasant setting with a neat mise en place. You can choose the daily menu or à la carte. I went with the daily menu and really enjoyed the food. The service was welcoming, and the location is good.
