The place felt dirty, outdated, and downright creepy. The owner was unbelievably rude, shouting at my partner and me because we hadn’t seen his booking text. He abruptly canceled our reservation and left us stranded. Worst experience of my life. Avoid this place at all costs.

We were relieved we hadn’t stayed there. The hotel looked rundown and neglected, like something from a horror movie. We’d booked because the price seemed decent for a room near Thun and Bern, but when we arrived at 8:30 pm, reception was closed. After we rang the bell, a shirtless man, who turned out to be the owner, yelled at us to leave immediately. It was rude and unsettling, especially as international travelers. Look elsewhere for somewhere to stay in the area.

The beds weren’t comfortable, though our room was clean and had a nice TV. We also appreciated the fully equipped kitchen and the fun lounge games, including table tennis and pool. The hotel always smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and had both indoor and outdoor smoking areas, which we found gross as nonsmokers. The location was quiet and nice, but quite far from Bern, with infrequent buses. It was manageable if we planned ahead. The owner was lovely and did his best to communicate through Google translate, which I appreciated. We speak no German and he speaks no English.

The hotel felt dirty and creepy, like a haunted place. The owner was very unfriendly and arrogant. I’d never stay here.

The staff and management were welcoming and helpful with any questions. The hotel and rooms were clean and fresh. Highly recommended.
