De la Paix

It's a nice hotel in a good part of Lausanne, with spacious rooms and nicely renovated bathrooms. But the rooms get very hot, so I had to leave the window open at night. The pillows were awful, so soft they felt like nothing. I woke up with terrible neck pain.

We were delighted by how spacious the room was, and the view was incredible. The modern bathroom, welcoming staff, and breakfast buffet were all lovely. Booking breakfast was a good call. The hotel has a nice mix of old and new, with metal blackout blinds that were a lifesaver while jetlagged. We wanted to explore the city rather than walk around the lake, so the location worked perfectly for us. The main letdown was the furniture in one of the best rooms. The chairs were so worn that they were uncomfortable, and both the carpets and furniture looked very aged. Instant Nescafé was also a disappointing coffee option. Housekeeping was a bit confusing: someone came in the morning to make the bed and refresh towels, then someone else returned much later to empty the trash and vacuum, so it was hard to know when the room was actually done. Still, the view more than made up for those small issues. It was a great choice for us, and we'd definitely stay again.

The staff were quick to help whenever we needed something, and they even had umbrellas at reception to borrow when it rained. Our room was comfortable, and the hotel was clean and nicely kept. It's an easy walk to the show, with a Coop just across the road.

I was here on a business trip last week. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect, with easy access to the metro and a straightforward trip to Swiss tech center. Breakfast had less variety than I'd expected, which was a small drawback. The price was a little high, but Lausanne is one of the most expensive cities anyway.
