Hotel Alpenblick

The best part of our stay was Jeannette and her husband. They work incredibly hard to make guests feel comfortable. Jeannette runs the front of house, and her husband, a man of few words, is a master chef. Dinner at his restaurant is a must. She’s kind, warm and gentle, and her bright smile lifted my mood. Each evening she was out front, busy but still stopped to hear about our day. I felt at home, and after quite a bit of travel, there are only a handful of people I know I’ll miss. They’re two of them. Hotel Alpenblick is steps from the train station and close to everything Mürren offers. Our room was large, the mountain views striking, and the WiFi excellent. The bed was a little firm for my taste, though others may like it. I highly recommend the hotel, 15/10.

Jeanette and her husband were happy to help with every request, and the price felt reasonable for Murren. We had a beautiful view of the valleys and mountains from our room, even with a side balcony. Breakfast was included, delicious, and filling every morning. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. It felt more like home than a hotel away from home, and we’ll definitely come back.

Those three nights were my favorite part of two and a half weeks in Switzerland, even after stays in five, four, and three star hotels. The owners, Jeanette and her husband, were incredibly kind, hardworking, and helpful. Our suite had two beds and two bathrooms, all the amenities, and was very clean. The patio was huge, with incredible views. Breakfast was fresh, traditional, and delicious, especially their homemade raspberry jam and preserves. It was quiet, calm, and very family friendly. After rugged days of 6-10 mile hikes, we loved relaxing and cooking there. I really hope to return.

The hotel sits in the quiet village of Murren, with incredible views. Jeanette was a wonderful host and made sure we had what we needed throughout our four nights. When we had to leave at 6 am, she even packed breakfast to take with us.
