Hotel Oberland

The outdoor dining area was relaxed and breezy in April, with a nice mountain view. WiFi is available. Staff were friendly and patient while we decided what to order. There was a mix-up and they brought chicken nuggets and fries, but the waiter noticed after a couple of minutes, took them away, and quickly brought the right dishes. The kids' fish and fries were both nicely cooked, crispy outside and good inside. The child's portion of bolognese spaghetti was decent and filling. I can't rate the rooms because I stayed at a different hotel.

We were only there for the day, and every luggage locker was taken. It's hard to understand why a place with a million visitors a year has only 20 lockers. Nearly every hotel won't store your bags, but Hotel Oberland did, and the staff were thoughtful and kind. Barbora & Eweline were fantastic and made our trip so much more enjoyable. We had a delicious lunch on the outdoor patio. The food was amazing, the service was top notch, and the atmosphere was cool. Thank you, ladies. Until we meet again!

The rooms were dirty and below standard, with sticky liquid and marks on the sheets. It was disgusting and not worth it. Dinner was just as disappointing. The fondue was overpriced and not even good, and the women working in the night restaurant were rude and passive aggressive. They quoted us the wrong price and rushed through explaining it. When my mother asked why our fondue hadn't arrived while a later customer had theirs, one of them replied, “This is not a fast food restaurant, we can't just make it so fast.” We'd already been waiting longer. That's no way to speak to paying guests, and my mother was upset by their comments and tone. Staff who don't know how to speak to customers shouldn't be in the service industry. The behavior and attitude were extremely unfriendly.

Dinner came with a great view, and both the food and setting were lovely. I had a schnitzel with mushroom champagne sauce and two good Rugenbräu beers. I'd eat here again.
