We rode the cable car down from Murren for dinner and had a lovely nightly set menu, just like a home-cooked meal. The staff were nice, and there’s always good music playing.

The Schwarz Mönch beer is a new favorite of mine. My wife had limited gluten-free food options, though they do have a dedicated fryer for French fries. Service was good, and the atmosphere and views are memorable.

The beer really is worth trying. I planned on having one glass and ended up with two, enjoying the view while I drank. The staff were very friendly, and the vibe was relaxed and easygoing.

We ended up here two days in a row. The first time we stumbled across it while hiking. The next day it was rainy, so we hung out here while waiting for the clouds to clear and watched waterfalls across the valley. It’s one of my top five little pub restaurants on Earth. The porch view is incredible, and even indoors the old-school chalet feel is lovely and cozy. The staff were so friendly, the award-winning marquis beer was a showstopper, and the few dishes we ordered were quite good.

We got such a warm welcome, and the staff were really helpful with advice for our hike. The place feels incredibly cozy, with views that are tough to beat. And try the famous beer while you're there!
