We paid CHF 700 for one night, CHF 500 for the room and package, CHF 150 for dinner, plus drinks and tips. The food was good and the cocktails were nice, but overall it felt like budget service at a luxury price. I wish I could give it 3 stars, but it was a disappointment and didn't feel romantic. The public thermal baths were the main attraction, but hotel guests don't get exclusive access. On Saturday it felt like a crowded, noisy market, and it wasn't very clean. It was overwhelming rather than a relaxing spa visit. The room was small and basic. Even with the recent renovation, I don't think it would meet a 3-star standard otherwise. The Romantic Package pushed the room cost to nearly CHF 500, but the value wasn't there: a bottle of Gobillard et Fils champagne that sells for about CHF 20, a meager fruit basket like you'd expect as a standard welcome at a 4-star hotel, and seven roses. We were given two single beds pushed together, with an uncomfortable gap between them. Making tea was so unintuitive I had to read the instructions, the shower was tiny, and there was no iron or comb. There was only one towel per person in the room, and none in the bath area. Each time we came back from the sauna or baths, we had to go to reception and ask for a dry towel. That's unacceptable at this price.

This old hotel is beautiful and very well looked after, with modern amenities and excellent service. It's also easy to get to Lavey les Bains. The photos show the valley on a moonlit night.

My parents-in-law were very happy with their therapists and felt well cared for. My own massage at Grand Hôtel des Bains de Lavey was a very different experience. We booked it for 26.07.2025, and though the location was beautiful and the first impression promising, the wellness service was disappointing. I asked for deep pressure, but the massage stayed light throughout, and I didn't feel listened to. The room was uncomfortably cold, understandable with the rain outside, but a spa of this caliber should ensure guests are warm. My feet and arms stayed freezing, so I couldn't relax, and even the masseuse remarked on the cold. Communication added stress instead of helping me relax. At a destination known to attract international visitors, some basic English seems essential. I was confused and couldn't explain or understand simple instructions in this premium wellness setting. We chose the hotel because of its strong reputation, so this was frustrating. Service quality felt inconsistent, and I believe every guest deserves a high standard, especially for wellness treatments where comfort, clear communication, and customization matter.

Our wedding guests loved the day, and we're so grateful to Lea and Mathieu for helping us organize it. The cooks made delicious food, and the servers were lovely. I'd highly recommend celebrating here.

We went as a couple and booked the Sunday deal with my boyfriend. It's the best offer, with a really good price-to-quality ratio. The room was very good, and there was a cute garden behind the hotel where we could take a stroll. Breakfast was amazing, and the baths were huge, though they can get quite busy at peak times. Still, it was a romantic and relaxing visit!
