The location is lovely, and having a garage is handy. There’s also a small private playground, and you can borrow strollers. We stayed in the 3-room Attika apartment, though, and wouldn’t choose it again. The room temperatures were impossible to control. Even with the thermostat at zero, the living room was far too hot, which didn’t feel like luxury comfort. The couch was broken and badly needed cleaning; it looked as if it was meant to be beige, not grey or black. The Tesla charger also wouldn’t work with our car, even though we’ve used Tesla chargers at hotels without any trouble. A few things in the kitchen were frustrating. There were hardly any glasses or cups, and most were chipped or slightly broken. The dishwasher wasn’t working when we arrived, though it was fixed the next day. The salt was completely gone, so we had to buy that, dishwasher powder, and soap for both bathrooms and the kitchen right away. None of that costs much, but it’s annoying to arrive without the basics. Communication could have been quicker and clearer, too. We didn’t find out the cost of an extra parking space until our last day, and the apartment information didn’t say when checkout was.

I’ve rented an apartment there for years, but after what happened with the garage, I strongly advise against renting there. As I was driving out of the underground parking garage, its door suddenly came down and damaged my car. A Gilgen Doors service technician checked it the next day and confirmed that the door system hadn’t been inspected since 2020 and no longer met current safety standards. I reported the damage to the property management company, but they blamed the landlord, who then blamed the management company. I don’t think that’s fair.

The living room’s glass windows and balcony give you views over Leukerbad and the mountains. The top-floor penthouse is quiet, clean, and wonderfully spacious, with a fireplace and two bedrooms. There are two toilets, and the elevator goes straight to the top floor. The kitchen has a bar as well as a table that seats 12. Both bathtubs have a jacuzzi and sauna. It’s beautiful. I’d give it 6 out of 5.
