The room had a great view, and breakfast was great too. The bathroom could use improvement. You can get there by car, with parking nearby, though it’s a long walk down. If you want to take the nearby cable car downtown, you’ll need cash.

On our second night, the hotel cancelled the booking we already had because they’d received another reservation. It was peak season, and we were left without a place to stay, so we had to leave Locarno. Our plans and the whole experience were ruined. All we got was, “Sorry, but there is nothing we can do…” I’d recommend staying somewhere else.

My husband and I stayed here two years ago, and we still dream about the place. The view from our room was worth so much more than I feel we paid, and the owner was incredibly hospitable.

The location was great, and the staff were lovely. After it rained, water leaked into the room. It would be lovely to see the rooms updated and modernised.
