The bistro downstairs serves good breakfast, but getting it can take up to 20 minutes. Orders are taken one by one while a crowd waits, and that soon became a running joke for us. The room has some useful equipment, though a lot of dust had gathered under the bed. Its window is small and looks straight at the next wall. Music from the bar goes on until 11 PM, with a constant ventilation hum through the night. The mattress is very firm and feels cheap. The door opens online, which is a clever convenience when it works. Ours failed, and we were delayed about 20 minutes before sorting it out with a badge. Last year we stayed at a hostel three minutes' walk from Piazza Grande that impressed us much more. It cost less and had everything we could have wanted.

For CHF 265 a night, I expected to be able to sleep. During the Moon&Stars Festival, the hotel's location was unbeatable, right by the festival grounds, so getting back after concerts was quick and easy. I knew the area would be noisy, so the festival noise itself wasn't a surprise. The room was another problem. Its window faced a closed courtyard, so there was no way to ventilate it. The air conditioning was very loud but didn't cool the room, and by 4 AM it had reached an unbearable 36 degrees Celsius. I simply couldn't sleep. I hope the hotel fixes the air conditioning, because the location alone doesn't make for a pleasant stay.

The room was clean and very cosy, almost too much so. The price is far too high, and there's no hotel service. It wasn't clear how the key and door worked, either. Breakfast was a joke, don't book it with breakfast.

The room itself was clean and good, but its window looked onto a wall, with no view. No service at all, online, by phone, or email. The air conditioning barely worked in a very warm room, and the passageway below the window was noisy until late and again early in the morning. Four stars for the room, zero for the service, air conditioning, and noise. My first and last time here. I don't recommend it.

We hadn't expected the self check-in on our first visit, but the staff helped us and it turned out to be quite easy. Our suite was incredibly beautiful, clean, and comfortable.
