Penthouse by Art Deco Hotel Montana

The view across the lake was breathtaking, and the hotel is conveniently close to the city center. My room was beautifully designed and very comfortable. The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, always ready to help with recommendations or little requests. Everything from check-in through check-out felt seamless. Hotel Montana in Lucerne was an absolute highlight of my stay.

I was traveling solo and felt safe and well looked after. The hotel sits on a hill, but its funicular connects it to the lake. My corner room had two balconies, and waking up to the mountain and lake views was heavenly. The views are stunning. The rooms are spacious, clean, and mostly quiet, and the staff are very friendly. If I’m back in Lucerne, I’d definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Montana for two days with another couple after a Viking river cruise. We weren’t sure what to expect, but soon realized we’d made a great choice. The incline elevator from the bottom of the hill to the lobby was helpful, and the location was very convenient and easy to reach by public transport. The transport was easy to use, too. Staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms spacious and nicely appointed, and the bar delightful. Breakfast at the restaurant was extremely nice. The dinner menu looked great as well, though we didn’t eat dinner there during those two days. We had a wonderful time in Lucerne and hope to return. The Montana would be our first choice.

As a disabled traveler, I can find planning activities challenging. Boris, the concierge, made a tremendous difference: each day he took time to understand our needs, offered thoughtful suggestions, and put together activities I could comfortably take part in. His kindness, patience, and deep knowledge of the area helped us experience Lucerne in the best possible way. The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning views, comfortable rooms, and a welcoming atmosphere. From our arrival, the warmth, service, and attention to detail stood out. It’s the exceptional staff, especially Boris, who take the stay to another level. I highly recommend Hotel Montana Lucerne, particularly for travelers who value personalized care and genuine hospitality. We’ll definitely return on our next trip to Switzerland.
