Hotel Central Luzern

The location made getting around easy, just a two-minute walk to the train station and ferry terminal and five minutes to the Old Town and Luzern City. Staff at the front office were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and housekeeping was efficient. We really enjoyed the wonderful, healthy breakfast. There’s also a dining area where you can eat takeaway food, plus free hot coffee and tea.

The staff were very friendly, but the lack of aircon made the room uncomfortably warm at night. We stayed when it was 30c, and although every room had a fan, it wasn’t enough to cool things down.

The room stayed surprisingly quiet even though the hotel is right by the road. The bed and pillows were clean and very comfortable, and I loved having a 24-hour snack bar with tea and coffee. It’s a nice place to relax or get some work done. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, with great local recommendations. I had a wonderful stay!

We spent December 2-15 at Hotel Central in Lucerne for our 30-year wedding anniversary, and the stay gave us much-needed time to relax. The staff across reception, breakfast, and housekeeping were welcoming, patient, cheerful, and always willing to help. They spoke English graciously, suggested restaurants, activities, and Christmas markets, and even helped us translate a rental car issue and figure out parking and evening plans. Our room was spotless, cozy, and warm, with very comfortable beds, excellent hot water, and quiet nights. Breakfast was outstanding, with fresh fruit, local meats and cheeses, and a lovely shared dining space with balcony access. From the hotel, it was only minutes to the train station, boats, Old Town, and historic sights, so getting around each day was easy. We intend to return and would recommend Hotel Central to couples, families, seniors, first-time visitors, or anyone staying longer in Lucerne.
