The river setting and location are hard to beat. I'd say the higher up your room is, the better. The rooms are well equipped, though the plastic or leather sofas don't look great. Bathrooms and electrics are just up to date. Staff were very friendly, and the bar downstairs was lively. I'd come back.

The staff were professional and well trained, attentive without hovering, and the thoughtful touches throughout made me feel looked after. The on-site restaurant has a calm, relaxed atmosphere and is a nice place to unwind after sightseeing. From the balcony, we had a stunning full view of Mount Pilatus and Chapel Bridge. The junior suite is cleverly laid out, with a sliding door separating the bedroom and balcony from the main living area. The location is especially nice on Saturday mornings, when the nearby farmers' market brings fresh local produce to the street. As a solo female traveller, I felt completely safe on late evening walks. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lucerne for the first time.

The suite was cozy, quiet, and comfortable, with a lovely balcony view of the river and wooden bridge. We couldn't be happier with the location in the old town, surrounded by restaurants, charming cafes, and shops. The staff were delightful.

Our room was spacious and looked out over the lake, which felt very romantic. It was an easy walk to shops and restaurants. Getting there by car was a little tricky, though valet parking is available. You have to drive along cobblestones past the shops, where it looks like cars aren't allowed, but they are. There are a couple of steps to climb, which might be difficult for someone with mobility issues. A beautiful hotel.
