BASLERTOR Summer Pool Hotel

The location was nice and the room was good, but a Saturday morning interaction with Lars at reception left a bad memory of the hotel. I asked where I could get an omelette for breakfast. He made a strange face and sarcastically told me to “go to 5 star schweizerhof and pay 58 chf to get a good breakfast.” It came across as if I were being unreasonable for wanting an omelette. That spoiled what could have been a good experience. Zero service orientation.

Baslestor is right in the heart of Lucerne, and we had a lovely stay. Our room was extremely comfortable and very spacious, with a somewhat traditional style. We arrived late, but Tobi’s clear instructions made self check-in smooth. Staff were courteous and helpful throughout, and Tina deserves a special thank you for her warm, attentive service. Highly recommended.

The lobby was nice, and the service felt welcoming and friendly. Rooms are simple, practical, and very clean, with options for two to four people. The quieter rooms face the pool and terrace. The hotel has an excellent central location.

After a long flight with our three-year-old, we arrived to find that the hotel said we had no booking for that day and was fully booked. Somehow the dates had been changed after we booked. We had to find another hotel at a much higher price. A staff member said he would get the manager’s permission to refund us the next day. When I went back, the woman there was rude and plainly said they wouldn’t refund anything. The man then said he hadn’t promised anything. Stay away. I see multiple cases in reviews.
