The room was spacious enough, the beds were comfortable, and there was a hairdryer. Breakfast was decent, though it cost extra. We could also take the bus into the city center for free with the included Luzern Card. Parking is available to the right of the hotel for 10 francs, paid by taking a ticket and showing it at reception. We arrived late and managed to check in using the instructions, but the crib we’d requested for our 2-year-old wasn’t in the room. Nobody was at reception by then, so we managed without it. The shower curtain lets water run onto the floor and leaves the whole bathroom wet. The balcony was oddly laid out, and the hotel was unreasonably expensive.

The location was a big plus, with easy access to the city and some interesting museums, while costing less than staying in the city itself. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hallways got very loud. I think the concrete stairwell carried every footstep, with banging sounds easy to hear from inside the room. The breakfast buffet didn’t feel worth the price to me: bread, jam, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, cold cuts, cheese, and yogurt.

The surroundings were peaceful and the landscape was beautiful, and breakfast was superb. We stayed for two days as a group with Star Tours, and from check-in through check-out the whole experience was great. The amenities and service were very good.

Luzern is lovely, but I wouldn’t stay at this hotel. The rooms were dirty and noisy, and the staff weren’t helpful. Don’t come here expecting a nice stay.
