The location is the one good thing. The rooms are really small and cramped, and the shared kitchen was dirty. Check-in staff weren't approachable. Some rooms don't have private toilets, so check the room and amenities carefully. One couple was caught off guard by this, and they don't refund you if you cancel. It's okay for a night if you can't find anywhere else, but I wouldn't recommend it highly.

I paid 88€ for a room with no toilet. The shared toilets had no soap and no privacy. I was exhausted but couldn't sleep at all because the light and noise insulation were practically nonexistent. I was very itchy when I left, bedbugs? mosquitoes? I don't know. A complete nightmare, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. Bernardette was helpful, but I still didn't sleep.

We had a great stay and paid about 187 CHF for two days. Towels were free, and we could leave our backpacks in lockers and start exploring the city around 9:00 in the morning. We also got a Lucern guest card for free bus rides everywhere. The showers and toilets on the third floor were good and looked new, and the kitchen was useful for cooking, with a fridge and plates. Bring two 2 CHF coins for the lockers. Staff aren't always at the hostel, so call if nobody is there to meet you. There's free Wi-Fi on the first floor for that.

The room had a musty smell, the bedding seemed questionable, and there was just one outlet for the whole room. The bathrooms weren't very clean and had no outlets either. Some charges weren't clearly listed on the website, and staff were unfriendly even before check-in. Most guests were older and not very friendly, which made the place feel somewhat hostile. The hostel could change the atmosphere by organizing activities for guests.
