Our room, "Il noce", had a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains, even though the hotel faces the front street. It's a small, almost family-run place with eight rooms. The location worked well for my trip, though it's definitely not in the town centre. There's no lift to the rooms, so it isn't suitable for someone with a disability. The room was nicely finished and had a Nespresso coffee machine and water. They don't offer breakfast, even for a fee, though they left two packaged croissants for the next morning. Room service came while we were there, but didn't ask if we needed more coffee or croissants for the following morning. That would've been appreciated, as would a second shower towel and another set of soap. I didn't like that the two single beds were pushed together as a double. I'm sure I'd asked for a double. All in all, the experience was okay.

There's no real service here, just a room to sleep in, so I wouldn't call it a hotel. On arrival day, they kept chasing us to say what time we'd get there. When we arrived, we still had to wait for the owner. The owner didn't bother wearing a corona face mask indoors, even in our bedroom. It's far from the city centre, so I imagine most guests arrive by car and need parking. There's plenty of space, shared by restaurant visitors and hotel guests. Restaurant guests park for free, while hotel guests have to pay. It felt like a hidden charge. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you want to enjoy your trip.

The room was clean and nice, and the service was great for the price. But the shower head was terrible and should be replaced. Also, when you're in bed there's a green light shining right next to your head.

We had a spectacular dinner, with fresh local ingredients in every dish. The gnocchi and polenta saltimbocca were favorites, and there were delicious desserts and a good range of local wines at reasonable prices. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff were friendly and knew their stuff. Highly recommended.

Service was good, though they missed my second order. They offered to change it, but I declined. I ordered the fritto del conventino and fritto misto twice, and both were well done. I expected something different, and maybe it just wasn't the right evening to try the food. The mozzarella was missing. It was okay overall, but not my favorite restaurant in ticino.
