Villa Sassa

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and everything was very nice. The hotel is a little way from the city center, but the lovely Lake Lugano view makes up for that. Bus 4 is also easy to reach and takes you into town and to the lakeshore.

The breakfast had a couple of hiccups. The hot dishes were often lukewarm, and the jam jars all had the same label on one large rack, which made it hard to tell them apart. We also waited more than an hour for a poached egg. The staff apologized sincerely and didn’t charge us for it, a kind gesture. The rest of our stay was very good. The hotel was clean throughout, our room was comfortable, and I had an excellent balcony view. Reception staff were welcoming and extremely helpful, and the shuttle for guests on arrival and departure was convenient. We also had a wonderful, very professional massage at the spa, and dinner at the hotel restaurant was tasty and beautifully presented. The staff were courteous and professional and made us feel well looked after.

The hotel views are breathtaking, and the accommodation exceeded my expectations. The receptionists were available and professional, handling even the most unexpected issues, which I really valued. Special thanks to Roxanne, who was always helpful, smiling, and understanding.

Absolutely awful. This place needs major renovations. I can’t understand how the owner considers these rooms acceptable, and any good reviews must be paid for. The couches and furniture look like they came from an estate sale a hundred years ago. The kitchen has no utensils at all. The coffee machine is loud and takes forever, and only the first three pods are free. I wasted two just trying to make this piece of garbage work. The windows, bedding, floors, and walls were filthy. The food was terrible too. The staff were anything but helpful. The hotel is like a maze, and you’re on your own trying to find your way around. Good luck 😅. Highly disappointed. Honestly, it’s a two-star hotel.
