Hotel Le Rive Sud

We loved every minute here and would be happy to come back soon. The staff made us feel at home right away, and our clean, cozy room was calm. The charming hotel is in a pedestrian zone, just a short walk from the lakefront. Parking right outside is limited to 15min, but the front desk team explained where to leave the car longer and gave us a map. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant: the food was excellent and the service stellar. I especially liked that the vegetarian risotto had ingredients added, rather than simply having some left out. Breakfast was great, too.

The risotto with mussels was the standout for me. The chef adjusted it to suit my taste, and it turned out even better than I’d hoped. My colleague’s chicken with pepper sauce was excellent too, and we both enjoyed the green salad. We’d only stopped for the night by chance, but La Rive Sud turned out to be just the sort of place you’d be lucky to stumble across. Carole and Bertrand Chardonnens run the restaurant, and the service feels personal and attentive, which is hard to find in Europe these days. The rooms were comfortable, pleasant, and spotless, and the hotel was very quiet. The restaurant has plenty of space and a cozy, warm feel. For Switzerland, the prices were very reasonable for the quality. Excellent!

The restaurant is pricey, and the portions were small enough that we were still hungry after a three-course dinner. Our room faced the main road, so it was quite noisy. The small hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was good.

The location made it easy to explore the historic city and unwind at the beach. Service felt personal from check-in through the generous breakfast and checkout. A lovely little hotel. Many thanks, and we’re looking forward to staying at Le Rice Sud again.
